Interviews
Nakisha Cazley
In under one month, the finals of one of the biggest UK beauty pageants will be held in Wigan, as people from across Europe come together to try and win in the finals. Amongst them is Nakisha Cazley, who will represent Leicestershire in the pageant finals. Nakisha, who currently works as a nursery nurse, is in the Curve Diamond UK category, and is part of the final three.
In an interview with Demon Media, the Leicester native talked about what she would do in her winning year should she win the crown “I believe it’s important to teach young children that there is beauty and strength in diversity.” Nakisha aims to be an inspiration to children across Leicestershire and the UK “I want to go into these nurseries and make an impact on young children”.
Nakisha is looking to become a national icon and go into more pageants and become an inspiration for plus size models “I want to represent my country as a Curve queen and have been doing interviews for healthy discussions on plus size in pageantry.” She stated that she would like to do more interviews about plus size models in pageantry.
The single mother of one graduated De Montfort University with a 2:2 in Journalism and Media and took to modelling after her struggles with mental health and anxiety. Nakisha is also an author and has published a book about her struggles with mental health and finding hope in dark times in her life
As well as this, Nakisha is also looking for donations to the Young Minds charity and also her project Unique Diamond. The project aims to help children embrace their differences and educate them about differences in others whilst also promoting positive body images and self confidence. To donate to Unique Diamond, you can contact Nakisha on Facebook (Kiki Cazley) or through Instagram (nakishapageantqueen1782).
